Ian Vespermann

Biography

Ian is a sound designer who explores the power of sound as a storytelling device. Experimentation is a driving force in his work, as he strives to find new avenues of expression. He enjoys collaborating with a team of artists and technicians to find creative solutions and design fulfilling experiences. 

Ian originally attended Western Carolina University in the BA Stage & Screen program. As a Freshman, Ian was asked to Sound Design his first show, This Is Our Youth, for which he was nominated for a Kennedy Center Theater Festival award (KCACTF region 4) in Sound Design. Following the completion of his Freshman year, he was accepted into the UNCSA Sound Design program.

During his time at UNCSA, Ian collaborated with a diverse group of artists and technicians across many mediums and genres including Dance, Film, Live Theatre, Musical Theatre, Concerts, Radio Drama, Devised Theatre, and Art Installations.
